Classical Doppler shift explains the Michelson‐Morley null result

چکیده
Here we review Michelson‐Morley's original analysis of their interferometer experiment and discuss its use optical distance. We derive a formula for transverse Doppler shift from geometric considerations, apply this to the Michelson‐Morley interferometer, present phase experiment. Furthermore, an equation at general angle null result round-trip paths any arbitrary angle. do not dispute validity result, nor prediction arrival-time difference longitudinal arms interferometer; rather, challenge implicit assumption that arrival time will necessarily in observable fringe shift.
